Reviews of the Failand Inn

“Great food”

September 2014

We go here a few times a year and never come away disappointed. One of the best mixed grills around and well priced when you consider you get steak, gammon, jumbo sausage, liver, kidneys, lamb chop, chips, peas, mushrooms, onion rings, tomatoes and a fried egg ! All for a reasonable £15.  Good selection too catering for most tastes and a wide selection of bitters etc means there's a good choice at the bar too. Would recommend without hesitation....best to book a table though as it can get busy.

“Great find on a rainy day”

August 2014

Stopped to get some lunch after visiting the local national trust on a very rainy day. Ordered special board curry for the Mrs and duck for me, really lovely and not badly priced at £11 and £10. Plenty of curry and duck and the staff were very pleasant, would certainly recommend if you are in the area. Pretty busy but still plenty of tables spare, obviously very popular as plenty of tables were reserved.

“Good food and good value”

August 2014

We called in here early this evening for a bite to eat after a day out. It will obviously be busy later as a lot of the tables had reserved signs on them, but only another two couple there when we arrived. We ordered off of the specials board, my husband having the home made shepherds pie with cheesy mash topping and I opted for the quiche with buttered new potatoes and salad. The service was quick, the portions were generous and the food was obviously freshly prepared and was delicious. Neither the food or the drinks were overly expensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again as we don't live too far away.
